Michelle (Shelly) Paznokas

Senior Associate Attorney
Paznokas focuses on complex medical malpractice litigation and catastrophic personal injury cases. She previously worked as an associate attorney at Kline & Specter under partners Andy Stern and Elizabeth Crawford for a little over three years. She contributed to numerous successful outcomes, including $4.7 million awarded by a Montgomery County jury to the spouse of a 58-year-old who died after developing a bacterial infection that his primary care physician failed to diagnose.

While in law school, Paznokas interned at an immigration non-profit, taught criminal law as a Dean’s Scholar, and served as the Executive Notes Editor on Drexel Law Review, which published her article on exploring the protection of abused and neglected immigrant youth. This Note was later republished and distributed to immigration law practitioners by LexisNexis. Paznokas graduated law school in 2017 magna cum laude and sixth in her class. She won several awards, including Best Student Performance in medical malpractice.

Before accepting a position with Stern and Crawford out of law school, Paznokas clerked with the Stern-Crawford team, drafting numerous motions for both trial and appellate courts, creating complaints, developing theories of liability, and consulting with expert witnesses.

Paznokas’ legal experience further includes working as a legal assistant for a family law and estate administration firm, interning at the City of Philadelphia’s Law Department, and actively participating in pro bono opportunities in various areas of law. She is currently the Liaison Committee Chair of the Kline School of Law’s Inn of Court, a member of the Alumni Council, and a Faculty Fellow/Co-Professor at the law school, where she teaches Writing Strategies for the Bar.

Paznokas received her B.A. from Temple University as a dual major in Anthropology and Spanish while running an acapella group that she founded and while acting as the Dance Department Head at a theatre company. She is still heavily involved in music, both with singing and playing several instruments, and takes ballroom and Latin dance lessons with her husband.
